Wiza Hidayat, CEO Arkadia Works, is featured in SWA Magazine interview and talks about his journey & strategy in leading the company in the time of Covid-19 crisis. “Our customers have very large and fast changing work patterns that affect the need and demand for workspaces,” said Wiza Hidayat, CEO of Arkadia Works, to SWA Online in Jakarta, recently.
For this reason, continued Wiza, Arkadia Works focuses on three core strengths of the company: Innovation, People, and Culture.
Wiza said that the management efforts with employees paid off even though fundamental performance had decreased at the beginning of the pandemic in March-July 2020. Wiza and team saw an opportunity gap in this situation, which was fuelled by very fast digital transformation and its related industries.
In terms of “Innovation”, as an engineering-based creative company, Arkadia realizes that customer needs always demand out of the box design ideas. “Our work is a beautiful combination of art and engineering. We are not just selling office contractor services, but we are transforming a client’s vision into a beautiful art space in the form of a productive workplace. We emphasize a strong and impactful concept design in each of our works,” explained Wiza.
From the “People” side, Arkadia selects the best talent in the industry. “Moreover, during the pandemic our message was very clear: we are all together on this ship and we can get through it. In this situation, the company owners didn’t take dividends and participated in salary deductions. However, entering 2021, all employee salary cuts have been successfully repaid by the company,” said Wiza.
In terms of “Culture”, Arkadia sees itself as a community that has strong core values. “Arkadia Works consists of people full of ideas, professionals, enthusiasts, and simply fun. There are interesting moments during this pandemic: when our ship began to shake, that’s where I saw the work spirit of our colleagues increase because each project received means saving so many colleagues,” Wiza said.
The work of Arkadia Works has been appreciated by various international institutions. In 2021, thefirm won various international awards including Asia Pacific Property Awards (Essex, UK), A’Design Award (Milan, Italy) Muse Design Awards (New York, United States), and IDA Design Awards (Los Angeles, USA).
In addition, one of Arkadia Works’ works entitled “Concentrix Office: Tale of Batik” also won the Greenship Interior Space certification award with the Platinum (highest) credential from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) and become a role model in the construction of a workplace that is environmentally friendly, energy efficient, healthy, and convenient to use in responding to sustainable development issues (SDGs). This work was recorded by the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as the first call center company to be certified Platinum Greenship IS in Indonesia.
